A Case Study towards the Adoption of Technical Innovation
This session assesses how effectively Interactive Whiteboards, representative of technological innovation, were adopted by Seaford Primary School in East Sussex, and suggests wider implications for the innovation model in Primary education. Drawing upon interviews, questionnaires and observations, it demonstrates how the adoption process was managed, and outlines key strategies to ensure the successful implementation of a new infrastructure in other schools. Discussion centres around the following: Induction; Teachers’ priorities; Purpose of the new technology; Sustaining successful adoption; Consequences of successful adoption.
