The Learner, The School and the Wider Community - a Local Authority View on Improving Learning Outcomes: Lessons Learnt and Ideas for the Future

Placing the learner at the heart of the learning environment could have huge consequences for the structure of our learning activities and the resources that support them. This session explores some examples and how schools and local authorities may need to adapt in order to ensure that the needs of learners, and those that support them, are fully met within the new Children’s Services Agenda. We will explore some practical examples of learner-centred assessment, hear from the learners themselves and consider some of the tools that can support new learning environments within a culture of independent, interconnected and interdependent individuals
